Objects for Living

Objects for the home exploring color, memory, and everyday life

2021 January (ongoing)

I am interested in creating objects for the home. For the spaces that we embody in the moments of complete vulnerability. Objects that: do not hinder the comfort and complexity of daily routine, that do not resist the banal flow of day-dreams, that do not drag us into exacting conversations or emotional exhaustion, but those that gently nudge us towards a peculiar state of mind that we often deeply desire.

Each work is an exploration of color, and the form emerges from the process of discovering the soft but precise and finite edge between the colors, through meditation on a particularly personal yet innately human and perpetual memory: of nostalgia, of sorrow, of finding the comfortable loneliness in a loud gathering, about the elusiveness of happiness, on the preicpise of resolving a sabotaging regret, on soothing the pain of living, and releasing the anxiety of existentialism. Objects that we might place consciously and strategically around us, to continually remind us of something we once felt, and that over time will be imbibed with new meaning, as we continue to grow and age in its presence, and live the life that we all live in isolation yet universally.
