The skin is the result of a biological process and it continually reflects the story of the life that resides underneath. It is an adornment, a protection and a separation for the “I” from the rest of the universe. In this work, the subjects pose in their most natural form, motionless for several minutes, while an automated robot moves a camera, taking several exposures of the face from an intimate distance. Each exposure only sees a small portion of the face. A computer program then stitches the individual exposures to form images that are in the order of 1-5 giga-pixels (109).
